Medical/Surgical/ICU

The Med/Surg/ICU Director is a qualified individual with knowledge of nursing care and clinical practice on a Medical/Surgical/ICU Units. The Director will consult with and advise VP Operations/Chief Nursing Officer on problems and concerns relating to Medical/Surgical clinical operations. The Director is responsible for the development and evaluation of policies, programs, standards and services that support objectives consistent with the hospital’s mission, visions and values. S he is responsible for orientation, in-service and continuing education of departmental staff related to Medical/Surgical Unit.
Education and/or Experience :
Graduate of an accredited school or college of nursing. Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferable and/or comparable work experience in Medical/Surgical Nursing. Licensed as a professional nurse by the State Board of Nursing of Wyoming. Basic Cardiac Life Support certified. Advanced Cardiac Life Support certified as well as Pediatric Advanced Life Support certified within one year of hire. Specialty skill course completion and/or Nursing Specialty certification preferred. Minimum of 3 years experience in hospital nursing required. Knowledge of regulatory requirements in addition to previous experience in critical care preferred. Supervisory, teaching, and leadership experience would be an asset. Working knowledge of Wyoming State laws related to nursing practice. Basic computer knowledge.
