As a member of the Emergency Medical Services team, the ER Paramedic provides direct and indirect patient care through protoc! ols set by Wyoming Medical Center to maintain safe and effective patient flow in the Emergency Room. The ER Paramedic works under the supervision of the ER Charge Nurse and the medical direction of the ER physician, and is accountable for providing care within established standards of practice. The ER Paramedic maintains required certifications and skills by participating in continuing education, practical skills testing, and the re-certification processes set by the state of Wyoming and WMC. Education and Experience Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school and at least six months of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, is required. Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations Current Wyoming Emergency Medical Services Paramedic certification/licensure is required. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) is required. AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) is requir! ed within 12 months of hire. AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Suppo! rt (PALS) or American Academy of Pediatrics Pediatric Education for Prehospital Professionals (PEPP) is required within 12 months of hire.
