Job Overview
The Specialist, Editorial Content will own the storytelling and contenting of fashion marketing for their area of responsibility. This individual will be involved in translating the fashion marketing content across print, digital (sitelet/email), mobile and social to ensure a cohesive and unified 360 degree fashion marketing message. The Editor will work closely with his/her Fashion Office counterparts to ensure that all fashion marketing content aligns with seasonal must haves, designated themes and overarching corporate initiatives. This individual will be a point of contact between merch-marketing, project management and the creative teams, but will also work closely with merchants and fashion directors on product selection for all fashion marketing vehicles. This individual must have a strong eye for product and possess the ability to influence at multiple levels. Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Functions
- Attend key seasonal market appointments with Fashion Senior Directors, Directors & Buyers to select marketing content/get an overview of product direction for the season.
- Operate with ongoing curiosity about emerging fashion marketing trends through competitive analysis in fashion magazines, fashion catalogs, digital guides, emails, social media, and mobile applications.
- Proactively provide new/innovative creative fashion marketing ideas for all channels.
- Maintain and adhere to the marketing workflow calendar to ensure that all projects are planned and executed according to schedule.
- Start to lead and influence marketing and creative counterparts in a more impactful way by being an active participant in strategic fashion marketing initiatives.
- Own the fashion content marketing process. Communicate with merchants on all marketing initiatives as it pertains to product direction, storytelling, sample collection, due dates, and MAS turn-in process. This applies to all full-price fashion books, digital sitelets, static pages, social media posts, newspaper and magazine ads. Editors will attend turn-ins to present the product to the creative, marketing, and project management teams.
- Act as an internal project manager to ensure that every aspect of this individual’s assigned project is being executed from inception through completion for all channels. This includes working with marketing on briefs through print/digital turns-ins, digital testing/product pools, and finally mobile and social applications.
- Specialist will own mid-tier campaigns and/or multiple smaller areas of the business.
- Work closely with the Fashion Senior Directors / Directors to ensure that all marketing vehicles are cohesive across all channels and all families of business.
- Create an engaging collaborative culture both within the fashion office and also outside the office with all cross-functional partners including merchants, marketing, site merchandising, project management, and creative. This is most important as it pertains to proactively maintaining one’s network and staying consistently engaged.
- Assist 1-2 Captainship Projects per year pertaining to fashion office-related responsibilities.

Competencies
- Bachelors Degree preferred
- Minimum 3-6 years of relevant work experience
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
