The Spruce Grove and District Agricultural Society provides facilities, programs and events that bring people together to celebrate agriculture’s influence on the past, present and future of our community. Working out of the grain elevator site, the Ag society is a non-profit that was formed in 1972 and is celebrating 50 years as an organization in 2022. The grain elevator site is also home to the Spruce Grove Archives, Museum and Farmer’s Market.
Grain Elevator and Museum Assistant
Schedule: Flexible, must be available some weekends/evenings
Wage: $15.50/hour
Step into the past as you work out of the historic Spruce Grove grain elevator! Work in a dynamic friendly environment, with passionate volunteers. Educate through emails, social media, phone calls and tours, about the significance of our history and assist in organizing community events. This role will help you expand a variety of skills as you work with a variety of volunteers, tourists from around the world and promote the elevator through social media campaigns.
Qualifications:
-Ability to work independently and as a team
-Proficient in administrative tasks such as emails
-Desire to learn
-Organizational skills
Tasks include:
-Answering phone & emails
-Social media updates
-Preparing, setting up, working and taking down for events
-Updating museum data on Past Perfect
-Assisting with volunteers
-Assisting in the museum
-Other duties as required to run the Society business
